Ride a Pet follows a straightforward loop: find a pet, level it, search for better eggs, and trade short-term progress for permanent upgrades. Start in the Overworld and learn one system at a time instead of spending Money across every shop immediately.
First-session route
- Explore the Overworld and locate the Starter Shop, Food Vendor, and Mutation Ranch.
- Equip an obtainable pet and use cheap food to build XP.
- Pick your next egg by rarity and search its area.
- Buy radar only when finding the egg is the bottleneck.
- Keep required pets for upcoming rebirth tiers.
1. Start in the Overworld
The Overworld is the main hub. Its useful beginner landmarks are the Spawn Area, Starter Shop, Food Vendor, and Mutation Ranch.
Use the Starter Shop for your first egg route and the Food Vendor when your pet needs XP. The Mutation Ranch matters later, but learning its location early saves time when a storm begins.
After the Overworld, the documented progression areas are Giant Tree Zone, Desert Zone, and Waterfall Zone. Their egg landmarks are Wood Egg Stand, Desert Egg Platform, and Aquatic Egg Basin.
2. Get a usable pet
Do not wait for an extremely rare pet before progressing. The first entries in the pet list are much more accessible:
Early pet checkpoints
| Pet | Listed hatch chance | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Snail | 1 in 2 | Easy first catalog target |
| Turtle | 1 in 5 | Early upgrade target |
| Sloth | 1 in 20 | Next accessible checkpoint |
| Horse | 1 in 500K | Required for Rebirth 1 |
| Fox | 1 in 21M | Required for Rebirth 2 |
A listed chance is not a pity counter. Compare the pet's actual movement and income in your current game before replacing a leveled pet with a rarer but untested one.
3. Level with food
Buy food from the stands in the middle of spawn. Select the pet in your inventory, ride it or place it in the ranch, and then use the food.
Grass costs $10 for 500 XP, while Bone costs $1,500 for 10,000 XP. These are sensible early purchases. Magic Apple and Dragonfruit are much more expensive late-game options, and Meat's XP is not listed.
Spend enough to keep progression moving, but avoid emptying your balance if you are close to a rebirth gate.
4. Hunt better eggs
Choose the target egg before buying gear. The egg list provides rarity and luck, while radar is sold by rarity tier:
Radar progression
| Egg rarity | Radar | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Rare | Advanced Radar | $50 |
| Epic | Jewel Radar | $3,000 |
| Legendary | Royal Radar | $20,000 |
| Mythic | Magic Radar | $300,000 |
| Divine | Angelic Radar | $7m |
| Ethereal | Eternal Radar | $30m |
Radar helps locate eggs; it does not improve hatch odds. Eggs reset every 8 minutes, so repeat your route after the next reset when a target is missing.
5. Use mutation storms
Place the pet you want to improve on the Mutation Ranch during a mutation storm. The five listed speed tiers are Shocked x2, Volted x3, Rage x4, Void x10, and Eternal x100.
A pet holds one mutation. A stronger result replaces a weaker mutation, while a weaker result cannot downgrade it. This lets you keep chasing upgrades without losing a better tier.
6. Prepare for rebirth
Rebirth requires a Money amount and a named pet. The first two gates are:
- Rebirth 1: $1M and Horse
- Rebirth 2: $50M and Fox
Current Money and temporary Luck reset to zero when you rebirth. In return, each rebirth permanently grants +1x Money Multiplier and +1 Ranch Pet Slot.
Before committing, keep the required pet, preserve the full Money gate, and read the live confirmation prompt. The current Wiki does not say whether the required pet is consumed.
A sensible priority order
When several upgrades compete for the same Money, use this order:
- Maintain one pet that can move and earn reliably.
- Buy food when a level provides an immediate improvement.
- Buy radar only for a specific egg search.
- Use mutation storms whenever they appear.
- Stop optional spending as you approach the next rebirth gate.
This route keeps each purchase tied to a current goal and avoids paying for a high-tier tool before you can use it.
