Food is the documented way to level pets in Ride a Pet. There is no separate potion in the current item list, despite players sometimes searching for one. Buy food at the stands in the middle of spawn, select the pet you want to train, and use the item while riding that pet or after placing it in the ranch.
Food prices and XP
Ride a Pet food list
| Food | Price | Rarity | XP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grass | $10 | Rare | 500 XP |
| Bone | $1,500 | Epic | 10,000 XP |
| Meat | $30,000 | Legendary | Unknown |
| Magic Apple | $7m | Mythic | 300,000 XP |
| Dragonfruit | $30m | Ethereal | 1,000,000 XP |
Meat is the one incomplete row: its price and rarity are listed, but its XP is not. Check the current shop display before buying it for leveling efficiency.
Which food should you buy?
Grass is the easy starting choice. It is cheap enough for early progression and gives a known 500 XP.
Bone is the next clear upgrade, offering 10,000 XP for $1,500. It is useful when Grass no longer moves your pet's level fast enough.
Magic Apple and Dragonfruit are late-game purchases. Dragonfruit gives the largest XP amount, but it also costs more than four times as much as Magic Apple. Pick between them based on how much Money you can comfortably spend, not rarity alone.
Avoid making an efficiency calculation for Meat until its XP appears in the live game or an updated source.
How to feed a pet
- Go to the food stands in the middle of spawn.
- Buy the food that fits your budget.
- Open your pet inventory and select the pet you want to level.
- Ride that pet or place it in the ranch.
- Use the food item to grant XP immediately.
Food adds XP rather than a fixed speed, jump, weight, or income bonus. Those stats improve through pet levels, so the result depends on the pet's current progression.
What about potions?
The available Food page lists five foods and no potion, recipe, brewing station, or cooldown. If the live game adds an item named Potion later, treat it as a new feature and check its description before spending Money. For now, the five foods above are the usable leveling items.
